Seven out of the eight South Asian countries feature in the top 50 persecution list released by Open Doors USA in 2022.

Afghanistan dethroned North Korea as the most dangerous place to be a Christian after more than two decades. This is the result of the Taliban's ruthless persecution of Afghanistan's precious Christian Believers.

Pakistan and India retained their places in the top 10 for a third successive year. Christian missionaries face prison or worse fates in all eight South Asian countries.
