The world’s second-most populous country, India offers a vast array of languages and cultures. India gave birth to Hinduism but hosts the world’s second-largest Muslim population. Although India is known as the world’s largest democratic country, according to the World Watch List, it is now ranked the 10th most dangerous place for Christians to live due to increased persecution.

Although the Indian constitution allows for freedom of religion, many Indian states have adopted anti- conversion legislation. Converts to Christianity are under constant pressure to reconvert; they are often physically assaulted and sometimes killed.
